Rebuilt Custom Home Is A Standout At Colorado’s Beaver Creek Ski Resort

If black diamond ski runs such as the Birds of Prey and Raptor downhill courses give you an adrenaline rush, you’ve come to the right place: Beaver Creek, Colorado.

But the regular stop on World Cup circuit is not just for thrill-seekers and pros; the 150-trail resort – made up of the villages of Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead – is also ideal for beginners, casual skiers, mogul seekers and powder fans. Vail Resorts owns and operates the ever-expanding skiable terrain, which is serviced by high-speed chairlifts.

Built as a destination resort, family and user-friendly Beaver Creek is accessible year-round thanks to heated sidewalks and a pedestrian village with strategically located escalators. Among enduring traditions, warm from the oven chocolate chip cookies are handed out to visitors each afternoon at the base of the Haymeadow and Centennial Express Lifts.

Of course, there are also numerous summertime pastimes, such as golf and hiking.

Set on the eastern hillside of Beaver Creek, this tree-sheltered Scott Turnipseed-redesigned custom home is steps away from the Haymeadow ski run and takes in sweeping western, ski slope and sunset views.

“It’s a quiet neighborhood and a private ski-in/ski-out location at the end of the road,” says listing agent Molly Griffin of Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate. “All of the surrounding house are 1990s construction. This one is completely rebuilt and turnkey with a level of finishes far exceeding anything in the resort.”

The well-appointed 6,068 square feet of modern interiors include open-plan living spaces combining walls of glass, stone walls and wood floors. A four-sided fireplace divides the great room, which contains the living room and a dining room.

Two islands provide additional prep and casual dining space in the kitchen. A wall of built-in shelving surrounds the stone-faced fireplace in the hearth room. The media room features a golf simulator.

An office, four en-suite bedrooms, a full gym with a sauna, a ski room and a total of six bathrooms complete the interiors. There’s a two-car garage.

An in-ground resistance swimming pool, a hot tub and a heated deck are among outdoor amenities.

The cost to rebuild 46 Greystone Court, Beaver Creek – using the same materials and with today’s construction rates – would far exceed the asking price of $15.445 million, Griffin says. “There’s really nothing like it on the market with the same quality.

“You hear about once-in-a-lifetime legacy houses,” she says. “This is very much that.”
