Intermountain Healthcare names Lydia Jumonville interim CEO

Intermountain Healthcare named Lydia Jumonville interim CEO as it seeks a successor to Dr. Marc Harrison, the not-for-profit integrated health system announced Friday.

Jumonville was CEO of Broomfield, Colorado-based Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, known as SCL Health before it merged with Intermountain in April. Last week, Harrison announced his departure from the 33-hospital system based in Salt Lake City for the venture capital firm General Catalyst.

Intermountain’s board is conducting a national search for a permanent replacement, which it hopes to secure by the fall, according to a news release.

“The healthcare world is ever changing, but our mission remains constant,” Intermountain Board of Trustees Chair Mike Leavitt said in the release. “We have established a best-in-class leadership team, a sound strategic path forward and we remain steadfast in our commitment to helping people live the healthiest lives possible,” said Leavitt, a Republican former governor of Utah and one-time U.S. secretary of Health and Human Services.
