Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital Updates Project Plans In Washington

The hospital campus project for MultiCare Health System’s Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma, Wash., has been revised to now include an ambulatory center along with a smaller inpatient hospital tower, according to the website thenewstribune.com.

The new ambulatory building will house specialty clinics, urgent care, and behavioral health crisis management services. Additionally, the inpatient hospital square footage will be reduced from 300,000 square feet to 250,000 square feet and parking lot spaces will also be reduced from 1,100 to 800.

The new children’s hospital campus, which was originally slated to open in late 2024, is now scheduled to open in early 2026.

ESa (Earl Swensson Associates; Nashville) will serve as the project’s architect.
