Recently released, Many Miles Away has quickly soared to the editors status of “Top Album of the Month.” The creators of this project are Miles Schon, one of the top guitarist from the Bay Area and Michael Shapiro from Las Vegas whose vocals are outstanding. The duo also identifies as “Many Miles Away.”
The album is filled with mosaic rock, pop, and tender ballads. The full-length record is treated to the magic fingers of Miles Schon who was a self-taught musician, raised within a musical family, including his dad, Neal Schon from the iconic band Journey. Miles has worked with, collaborated with, and seen on stage with people, including Stephen Perkins Jane’s Addiction, Scott Page, from Pink Floyd, Grammy winners, Will Champlin and Jonathan Cain, and many others.
Michael Shapiro has recently come off of residency at the Sahara hotel in Las Vegas with his band “Reckless in Vegas”, a project that modernizes artists songs including Cher, Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, and others, who have performed in Vegas at one time or another. Shapiro has toured with iconic bands including, Great White, The Romantics, and Cheap Trick. As a teenager, he has jammed with the legendary Bruce Springsteen.
Ahead of the album the duo released two successful singles, “Get It Back” and “Can You Feel It.” Both were a supreme sample of the music this team can release. The record is a triumphant musical experience especially the title track which is an addictive surprise. There is the swagger of the avant-garde, the flair of the audacious and the hard drive of rock n roll all meshed together within the album. “Many Miles Away” can be found on every digital platform worldwide.
