Northwell Hospital’s Peconic Bay Medical Center To Add $92M Project

Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, N.Y., a part of Northwell Health (New Hyde Park, N.Y.), revealed a $92 million expansion project that will add a new center for women and infants and expand the existing emergency department (ED). (For more on Northwell Health, go here.)

The women and infants center will house private patient rooms and a Level II neonatal intensive care unit. Services will include breast health, urogynecology, and tele-neonatology.

The hospital plans to add 6,600 square feet to the ED to increase bed capacity and make room for a dual bay trauma unit, cardiac response technology, and radiology capabilities.

The ED will be renamed the Poole Family Trauma & Emergency Center in honor of a $5 million contribution made by local philanthropists Thomas and Mary Jane Poole.
