Sand worms and Harkonnens might be the least of House Atreides’ concerns (the surviving members, that is), compared to the storm that’s about to be unleashed on Arrakis and the universe at large. As the year winds down with the winter holiday season, director Denis Villeneuve has blessed both the Maker and us eager fans alike with an early gift: a fresh look at “Dune: Part Two” with today’s buzzy new trailer.
Based on author Frank Herbert’s original 1965 “Dune” from a script by Villeneuve and returning co-writer Jon Spaihts, the sequel brings back a cast led by Timothée Chalamet as Paul, Zendaya as Chani, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Stellan Skarsgård as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, and Dave Bautista as Glossu Rabban Harkonnen. The A-list ensemble will be joined by newcomers Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan Corrino, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot, Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV, and Tim Blake Nelson in an unknown role.
The spice will once again flow when “Dune: Part Two” comes to theaters on March 1, 2024.
