The Super Bowl is finally here, and by the end of this Sunday, there will be plenty of celebrations—and inevitably some frustration—in living rooms across the country.
Some fans are wondering if the Kansas City Chiefs will claim their third consecutive Super Bowl victory, while others hope for an upset. Meanwhile, many are eagerly anticipating this year’s halftime show, headlined by rapper Kendrick Lamar.
However, the deadly New Orleans truck attack that killed 15 in the early morning hours of January 1, 2025, cast a shadow over the impending game. According to USA Today Sports, the NFL issued a statement assuaging public anxiety over the game’s location at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
“The NFL and the local host committee have been working collaboratively with local, state and federal agencies the past two years and have developed comprehensive security plans,” they stated. “These planning sessions will continue as they do with all major NFL events and we are confident attendees will have a safe and enjoyable Super Bowl experience.”
