Trump tracker: US tariffs

We have used an AI model to categorise the executive orders signed by Donald Trump in his second term into seven broad topic areas: trade and tariffs, economy, health, security, justice, energy and environment, and others. A large language model was given the full text of the executive order and prompted to assign it to one of the seven categories. Each categorisation was then manually checked by an FT journalist to ensure accuracy.
