Carilion Clinic Delays Behavioral Health Center Construction

Carilion Clinic, a not–for–profit healthcare organization in Roanoke, Va., is postponing the planned construction of a new behavioral health center to incorporate lessons learned from the pandemic, according to the website roanokerambler.com

The project, which gained zoning approval less than a year before the pandemic, was originally part of a $300 million expansion on Carilion’s Roanoke campus.

When the plans for the new center become firm, they will be announced, according to the healthcare organization.

In the meantime, Carilion intends to renovate its existing behavioral health building and build a 300- to 600-car parking garage next door.
