The current president can’t help himself. This is who he is.
So when Trump was asked about the ad from Vivek Ramaswamy using Amy Acton’s childhood trauma of sexual abuse against her in the Ohio gubernatorial race that has been widely condemned by the current Republican governor and former Republican governor of the state, the president said:
I don’t know the mother. I don’t know her. I never heard of her until just recently as somebody running for governor of Ohio. I can tell you this. If my mother ever made those statements, I have a mother, I had a mother who’s up there right now looking down, Mary McLeod Trump. If she ever made statements like that about me, you and your fake station would have it front row center. You’d love it.
Of course, Trump has to defend a woman who chose to stand by the man who raped her daughter, but the president wasn’t done.
He had even worse things to say.
